How do I become smarter about a subject I know little about?

Web searching, for one. But use your access to ProQuest, LexisNexis, JStor and MUSE to try and read some academic articles about the subject too.

Ask a colleague or a friend.  We often get tunnel vision after we’re assigned a story, and we might forget that the person next to us has a world of experiences that we don’t.
